At the heart of every healthcare profession is a commitment to serving others. This group coaching session will help you explore what service orientation really means — and how to engage in community efforts that reflect your values and goals. Attendees will earn how to find meaningful volunteer opportunities through UGA’s Involvement Network and discover ways to get involved in student organizations and local initiatives. For those just getting started or looking to deepen their engagement, this session will guide participants in building experiences that not only support their future application, but also help them grow into the kind of healthcare professional communities need.

By attending this session, students will be able to:

  • Define service orientation and explain its importance as a core competency for future healthcare professionals.
  • Identify at least two campus or community opportunities that align with their personal interests and values through UGA’s Involvement Network and other resources.
  • Reflect on how sustained, intentional service experiences can contribute to personal growth and support a strong professional school application.

To receive credit for this program, students must attend this event in person and complete the survey at the end of the session.
