Canning Pickles: It's Kind of a Big Dill
Join a hands-on workshop to learn how to can pickles. Participants will learn about canning processes, equipment, and safety, and then make a jar of pickles using their own produce. Almost any produce can be pickled, but firm vegetables work best (suggestions include cauliflower, broccoli stems, and root crops like carrots and beets). Bring 2-3 cups of vegetables, and the jar will be ready to take home the following day. This class is geared towards adults but children to ages 16 and up may attend when accompanied by an adult. Preregistration is required.
