The UGA Department of Kinesiology, along with the Institute of Gerontology and Athens Presbyterian Village will be hosting The Brain Health Seminar Series: On the Move - Brain Health and Movement Disorders. The aim of this series is to provide educational knowledge to students and faculty at UGA on the current research frontiers in the neuroscience of human movement.
The second seminar will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Aderhold Hall, Rm G5 from 10:30-11:30 am by Dr. Steven Wolf, PHD, PT, FAPTA, FAHA, FASNR. Dr. Wolf is a Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Emory University of Medicine. He is also a Professor of Health and Elder Care in Nell Hodgson School of Nursing, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Cell Biology in Emory University, as well as a Senior Research Scientist, Center for Visual and Neurocognitive Rehabilitation, Atlanta VA Health Care System. Dr. Wolf is the world leading expert in stroke rehabilitation and will be speaking on Vagus nerve stimulation paired with upper extremity rehabilitation for motor recovery following stroke.
An applied presentation and discussion will be held at 2 pm at the Presbyterian Village titled Fall Prevention in Aging.
