Around the world, it is one of the most enduring works to come from the Baroque era. First performed in Dublin in 1742, Handel’s oratorio "Messiah" portrays Advent, the birth, the Passion, and the Resurrection of Christ. Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Director of Choruses Norman Mackenzie steps up to the podium to conduct the first part of this work and the “Hallelujah” Chorus. Don’t miss this beloved Athens tradition as world-class soloists and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Chorus raise the roof with this glorious masterwork.
