About this Event
2450 S Milledge Avenue, Athens, GA 30605
Artist Hye Kyung Han will bring her paintings for her first exhibition in the Visitor Center since 2014. She is an artist with a passion for abstract and realistic oil painting. Her work has been described as modern, colorful and rich with symbolism and texture. She was exposed to a variety of colors at an early age through her father’s fabric manufacturing business. The different designs and colors stimulated her creativity and inspired her to become an artist. Her subject matter varies from landscape to still life and to human figures and animals. Han had a special invitation exhibit at the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in South Korea, has had five solo exhibitions and more than 35 group exhibitions. She is a member of Athens Art Association, the Plein Air group, OCAF and LHAC.
Noted artist and UGA Lamar Dodd School of Art Professor Emeritus Art Rosenbaum said Han “is a painter whose poetic and well-crafted works fuse important forms and meanings from her Korean culture with an energized Western abstract visual vocabulary. Always, her color is fresh and bespeaks a personal vision.”
