Student Success Workshop: Academic Writing in Graduate School

Classes and Workshops

Academic writing in graduate school usually requires students to make a huge leap beyond the writing they have done as undergraduates, so it can seem like an overwhelming task. This presentation attempts to demystify the process by outlining some of the factors that influence writing and explaining some of the rhetorical moves that experienced and professional writers make in writing their research papers. This workshop will be most useful for doctoral students or those planning to pursue a Ph.D. program in future.
