Free Speech and Hearing Screenings

Health

The UGA Speech & Hearing Clinic will provide free screenings of speech, language, voice, resonance, fluency, and hearing for adults and for children ages 3 years and older. Graduate students with nationally certified/state-licensed audiologists and speech-language pathologists will conduct screenings to identify communication disorders or differences and to provide prevention or intervention resources, when needed.

Morning Mindfulness Workshop

Classes and Workshops, Visual Arts

The Georgia Museum of Art invites you into the galleries to participate in free guided mindfulness meditation sessions, held every other Friday during the spring semester. Sessions include instructor-led meditation followed by a period of reflection. Stools (without backs) are provided; please bring a cushion if desired. International Coffee Hour is a weekly program that brings together UGA students, faculty, staff and community members over coffee and international cuisine. This program offers a unique experience to engage in conversation with people of different cultures and backgrounds. Each week is hosted by a different student organization or department on campus. Coordinated by the Department of International Student Life, UGA’s International Coffee Hour is one of the longest running programs of its kind across the U.S.

Discussion: Cherokee Speculative Fiction

Cherokee speculative fiction writers will discuss speculative fiction in the Native American contemporary literary canon. Writers Sequoyah Guess, author of The Books of the Red Eye; Daniel Justice, author of The Kynship Chronicles; and Blake Hausman, author of Riding the Trail of Tears, will be on a panel moderated by Josuah Nelson, University of Oklahoma.
