DEA/UGA Substance of Abuse Conference

Topics will include the current state of opioid prescribing in Georgia, guidelines for prescribing opioids, and an overview of DEA requirements regarding the handling of controlled substances pursuant to Federal regulations.

Sam Lai is an associate professor in Molecular Pharmaceutics at UNC Chapel Hill. The Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences hosts a weekly research seminar series during the Fall and Spring semesters. Each week, a speaker with expertise in cutting-edge pharmaceutical and biomedical research talks about their work in an hour-long seminar. Past speakers have visited from such prestigious institutions as the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Carnegie Mellon University, and Emory University. Seminars are open free to the public.
