Healthy Dawg Fest

The Health Center will be hosting its annual Healthy Dawg Festival. HDF is a campuswide celebration of healthier living, healthier choices and a better life. During this event, organizers will award prizes from local businesses to the first 200 UGA students who stop by and participate in activities. The festival is themed with Healthy Dawg traveling the world “Map Your Course to a Healthy Lifestyle."

World Voice Day Screenings

Other

Free voice screenings and information on how to protect a human voice. Screenings provided by speech-language pathology graduate clinicians and supervised by a licensed speech-language pathologist. Speech and voice screenings consist of a brief assessment (approximately 15 minutes) of voice quality, resonance and breath support. Speech and fluency also will be screened. Information on maintaining a healthy voice also will be provided. No appointment needed. Also to be held in Room 112 of Aderhold Hall and the journalism building.

Concert: UGA Wind Ensemble

Performing Arts

The Wind Ensemble will give its final concert of the academic year. The performance will include Bernstein's "Overture to Candide," "Sure On This Shining Night" by Barber, Vaughan Williams' "Overture to Henry V" and Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition." Of special note are Paul Creston's "Concerto for Alto Saxophone," showcasing concerto competition winner Gabriel Pique, and "Three Pieces for 5 Timpani, 5 Roto-Toms, and Wind Ensemble" by visiting composer Claude Baker, featuring percussion professor Timothy Adams, Jr. This concert also marks the final concert of professor and conductor John P. Lynch, who has been on faculty at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music since 2007.
