Class: Medicinal Salves

Classes and Workshops

This class will cover making herbal infused oils, base oils for salve making and appropriate herbs and essential oils to treat a variety of symptoms. The class will begin with an instructional walk through the herb and physic garden. Participants will enjoy herbal tea and bread with herbal butter as the instructors introduce the craft of salve making.

Denim Day

Other

Denim Day is a worldwide awareness day that began in 1998 after an Italian Court overturned a rape conviction because the victim was wearing tight jeans. They believed the jeans were impossible to remove without the help of the person wearing them, therefore implying consent. Participants should wear jeans to show there is no excuse for sexual violence.

Concert: UGA Symphonic Band

Performing Arts

The UGA Symphonic Band will give its final concert of the year. The ensemble, led by Hugh Hodgson School of Music professor Michael Robinson, is made up of talented undergraduate music majors, music minors and non-majors from across campus with experience playing woodwind, brass and percussion instruments, focusing both on the classic band repertoire as well as exciting new music.
